Segundo relatório da Sociedade Internacional de Pilotas de Aeronaves, 97% do mercado de capitães de voos comerciais é ocupado por homens e, ainda bem, que a história da aviação está mudando, bem diante dos nossos olhos.
Em Harare, no Zimbábue, um Boeing 737 decolou, pela primeira vez, comandado por duas mulheres como pilota e co-pilota: as pioneiras são Chipo Matimba e Elizabeth Petros, que estavam à frente da aeronave da Air Zimbabwe até as Cataratas de Vitória, na fronteira com a Zâmbia.
Depois da viagem de uma hora, que foi um sucesso, as pilotas comemoraram muito o feito, em seus perfis nas redes sociais.Com a hashtag #PaintingTheSkyPink (“Pintando o céu de rosa”, em inglês), as duas encorajam que outras mulheres entrem na profissão. “Primeiro 737 só com mulheres na cabine de controle. Foi um prazer, Chipo Matimba!”, escreveu Elizabeth, em sua página.
